While children weep in Gaza

How can we as a supposedly Christian nation remain silent as politicians turn a blind eye to the mayhem and mass murder of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip? One wonders how long it will be before Israel loses the head again and sends in her rag tag army to sort out the people they call 'terrorists'. The silence in this quiet and now peaceful island of ours is deafening as we switch off after work, close the curtains and enjoy the refuge of our comfortable homes. Not my problem guv' seems to be the attitude of most westerners towards this legalised murder but thankfully there are many of us who refuse to remain silent lest we upset Israel.

When children of war lie weeping next to dead mothers they feel a pain the likes of which you and me have no concept of whatsoever and thankully that kind of pain is something most of will never experience. Young souls will have been so traumatised that they will never know the meaning of happiness and a horrible empty shadow will follow them for the rest of their lives. Ask anyone who lost relatives to the Luftwaffe destruction of London, Coventry or Clydebank and they will tell you that these events leave a shadow which can follow families for generations

The bloodthirsty willingness of the Israeli murder machine to shock the world with the most terrible examples of man's inhumanity to man is a disgrace to the spirit of mankind. This is not the fault of the Israeli people because they are just being used as pawns by some unseen but very powerful forces. We are dealing with the minds of the type of men who think it acceptable to expend the lives of 60,000 men in single day just like what happened at the Battle of the Somme on July 1 1916. Men in power are often proud, stubborn and belligerent and have an ability to deny their guilt even when the evidence of their actions is staring them straight in the face. They believe that power comes without responsibility and when their power is threatened they will do almost anything to deny it. Just ask Mr Mugabe. In Israel governments come and go to give the people the illusion that they live in a democracy but what a price they have paid for maintaining that illusion. When they look into the mirror and see how they are perceieved in the minds of the rest of the world they will not see many smiling faces looking back at them

The last time Israel stormed Gaza reports from Amnesty International cited examples of Israeli troops using innocent civilians as human shields. The documents will be submitted to the UN and when the case goes to a vote it will be vetoed by the usual suspects. Many people ask what is the point of the UN? It is the only hope we have got against the world's madmen and it also keeps our own closet psychotics on a tight leash as well

All this chaos and mass murder is created by design because the middle east has too many valuable resources to be left in the hands of a few pesky Arabs. War is a huge industry and keeps thousands of British workers in defence jobs. Britain is not under attack and has not been for over 65 years yet it is the biggest arms dealer on the planet. The Americans and the British expect us to show them friendship, and we do to be civil, even though many of us privately think that they are a force for evil owing to their past deeds and empty promises. Actions speak louder than words and empty promises followed by acts of savagery and then covered up only serves to reinforce in our minds the fact that we should be rightly scared of just what our own governments are capable of. Not in my name please and not in anyone else's for that matter

Since it was formed in 1948 the state of Israel has been in a perpetual state of war with it's neighbours. If the Israeli state was made to answer for the crimes they have committed since 1948 it would take decades to process the cases

Recently there has been a call for the people of Ireland to boycott Israeli products. Calling for a whole nation to be collectively punished for the actions of their psychopathic leaders is not something that sits well with any sane person but it is only one of the many weapons we have to affect change. We could stop all this together if we really tried to but as individuals we can do our own bit if we choose to stop buying anything that is produced in Israel.

Irish people will continue to remain silent because too many mortgages here are serviced with salaries paid by American employers. We all know that Paddy would sell his soul for a few pounds and this even extends to the supplying of concrete to Israel with which they build the walls of hate. No-one here noticed the irony that we were helping to create another Belfast that would divide and persecute an innocent nation half a world away

Where are the values that 100 years ago freed us from the tyranny of a nation that is famed the world over for it's desire to dominate and control it's weaker enemies?

Meanwhile British Prime Minister Gordon Brown was 'concerned' and 'calling for restraint' regarding the situation. Rab C Nesbitt would have a good answer to Brown and it would be something along the lines of "take this ya fecking eejit ye"

If Britain continues it's suicidal and long dark journey into an Orwellian police state they might as well go the whole hog and rename the Ministry of Defence to the Ministry of Love because it would not be too far out of kilter with the sheer lunacy that is western morality

The children of Gaza will continue to weep in silence because they have been betrayed and forgotten by a world that does not care. It is our duty to care about them and for that reason alone we can make steps now to reduce our level or ignorance to their plight

One way to do this is to ignore the BBC, Sky and CNN and look further afield for real news and not the opium they have been are feeding us for centuries

But when you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is you brother is you'll have to wait
