This site is about being creative with limited resources. It promotes self education and personal discovery using digital technology for learning, professional development and recreation
Irish Landscape Photography was the original motivation for the site but as time passed it grew into something more than just straight photography. Digital Photography opens up a whole new creative world without limits and the web provides the means for photographers and artists to show their work to a worldwide audience. I find this exciting and that is why I also focus my energies into understanding how the web can be used for the presentation and display of art portfolios and written works
Photography can now be anything we want it to be. It can be used to record snapshots of ordinary life or it can be used to create works of art that are surreal and capable of tapping into the psyche on a subconscious level. Landscape photography can be a therapeutic weekend hobby for anyone or it can be practiced as a fine art when you realise how much scope there is for experimentation with all the modern cameras, inks and papers that are available to those who want to take it more seriously
Studying the landscape and it's interaction with the light is fascinating and takes you to a place that is far away from the humdrum of daily life. Nature is inspirational and being close to it on a daily basis provides the conditioning for more creative thinking about who we are and our purpose in life
The landscape in Ireland reveals signs of civilisation dating back about 6000 years and it has a permanent sense of place and time which reminds one that a human life is only a fleeting moment and that time is something we should all make the most of
Most of us are naturally creative and can unlock the door that brings freedom through self expression. Hopefully this site will teach you that if you don't know it already
